東京農業大学は、ウクライナ国立生命環境科学大学(旧名：国立ウクライナ農業大学)と2003年に協定校締結をしています。

　ウクライナの耕地面積は約3230万haであり、穀物生産物の半数近くを輸出しています。このウクライナの農業生産や流通に支障が出ていることで、今後世界の台所に大きな影響を及ぼすことが予想されます。

　これまでも気候変動からウクライナの農業生産は、不安定な状況にもありました。しかしながら自国の努力とともに東京農業大学との学術交流によって農業生産においても効果をもたらして参りました。

　ウクライナは、近代的な最先端農業技術、品種改良法の導入によって革新的技術を推進しています。従いまして、世界的な食料安定供給、持続可能な食料生産の観点からウクライナの農業生産は重要です。

　東京農業大学とウクライナ国立生命環境科学大学との協力体制は、長期的視点からも意味深く、引き続き強い意思を持って応援したいと考えています。

　「世界の平和と豊かな環境」、「食料生産による飢餓のない社会」、「ヒトの過ちによって亡くなる地球より重い命を尊ぶ」ことなど血や涙を流さない幸せな時が過ごせるよう切に願います。

　概要：2006年7月21日（金）、ヴォロディーミル・マクハ駐日ウクライナ大使が東京農業大学を訪問し、大澤貫寿学長(現：理事長)と会談した。

Tokyo University of Agriculture (Tokyo Nodai) has signed an agreement with the Ukrainian National University of Life and Environmental Sciences (formerly known as the National Ukrainian Agricultural University) in 2003.

The area of ​​cultivated land in Ukraine is approximately 32.3 million ha, and nearly half of the grain products are exported. This disruption to Ukraine's agricultural production and distribution is expected to have a major impact on the world's kitchens in the future.

Ukraine's agricultural production has been unstable due to climate change. However, along with the efforts of our own country, academic exchanges with Tokyo Nodai have also brought about effects in agricultural production. Ukraine is promoting innovative technology by introducing modern cutting-edge agricultural technology and breeding methods. Therefore, Ukrainian agricultural production is important from the perspective of global food security and sustainable food production, too.

The cooperation between Tokyo Nodai and Ukrainian National University of Life and Environmental Sciences is important and meaningful from a long-term perspective, and we would like to continue to support this relationship with a strong will.
