文科省「大学の世界展開力強化事業」の支援を受け今年開始した「食と農のグローバル人材育成プログラム」で、ケニアのジョモケニヤッタ農工大学（JKUAT）との初めてのオンライン交流プログラムが、3月19日（金）に東京農業大学主催で行われました。

　農大や本事業のことを知らないJKUATの学生から多数の参加登録があったため、イベント開始時間を予定より30分早め、プログラムコーディネーターによる簡単な説明会を行いました。その後、農大の学生と直接交流をしたい学生と、引き続きプログラムについての質問会に参加したい学生に分かれ、約2時間におよぶイベントとなりました。

　イベントはYouTubeでライブ配信され、また説明会のあとに農大の学生も加わり、合計で100名を超える学生が参加しました。イベント終了後、多くの参加者から、「交換留学プログラムに是非参加したい」「次のオンラインイベントの情報をいち早く知りたい」など、前向きな感想が寄せられました。本イベントは、アフリカの参画校の学生と農大生の活発な交流を促進するため、毎月1回ずつ各大学と開催する予定です。

Tokyo NODAI x JKUAT: the First Online Exchange Program

On Friday, March 19, Tokyo NODAI hosted the first online exchange program with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). JKUAT is our partner university in Kenya and one of the participating universities of our collaborative educational program which was adopted as part of the Inter-University Exchange Program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in December 2020.

Since the online event received a lot of registrations from JKUAT students who were new to Tokyo NODAI and the collaborative program, it started 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled to provide a short information session for them. After the session, the students chose either to attend the student exchange session with Tokyo NODAI students or stay to ask the program coordinators questions.

The event was broadcast live on YouTube, and students from Tokyo NODAI joined after the information session, in total over 100 students from both universities participated in the event.
