Reasons for entrance into Tokyo NODAI
First of all I wanted to study abroad and get international experience regarding education. Studying in japan is a good opportunity to for high quality education combined with culture and history, and also an opportunity to be exposed with agricultural technology which may possible to transfer and adequate into the Mozambican agriculture system; I have learnt that Japan is a country where is possible to find large international research and educational centers in several cities, offering students more possibilities in different research fields. Specifically I chose NODAI because I noticed that there is a very huge source of material (library) which is possible to find books related to my research and not only. So far that was a very good starting point and second I noticed that there are very good lecturers according to their field of research and background, specifically my Professor/Supervisor is also good and has lots of experience in social research especially in Africa which could be ease to guide me with proper knowledge and efficiency during my research stage. These two conditions made me to decide about to choose in Tokyo NODAI in comparison to others Universities in Japan that offer the same agricultural courses.
Outline of my research task in NODAI
write the first and second chapters (Introduction and methodology chapters), Field Work (Overseas research in Monapo/Nampula Province/Mozambique); Data Enter; Data Analysis; Discussion/Interaction with the Supervisor and so on, and continue writing the following chapters such as Results and Discussion, Conclusions and Recommendations and finally limitations of the study and further research. Basically the writing process will take place in Japan/Tokyo NODAI and field survey will take place in Mozambique, in this case in Monapo District located in Nampula Province.
Student life in Nodai
Because of language barrier (Japanese) I am not able to make Japanese friends, which would be very wonderful to get their friendship and I also believe that it would be the best way to know or understand Japanese culture. Related to lectures actually I didn’t have any difficult cause most of the Professors in this Department, I mean Department of International Agricultural Development are good lecturers and very kind. The funny moment that I have registered, is when I was trying to speak Japanese language, because I couldn’t pronounce it correctly, I have thought it very funny.
Future path that I am planning now or my dream for the future
The plan now is to work very hard in order to collect the remaining data for my research topic, start working on data enter and analysis and finally accomplish the master thesis, this will be the path to conduct me into the graduation. My future plan will start at the moment when I will go back to my Country (Mozambique), at that time I think that the priority is to contribute on the development of the country by using the knowledge I have acquired in Tokyo NODAI during master course, specifically on agricultural sector because I am a public officer from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security of Mozambique in the Mozambique
