2015 Results

Tokyo NODAI has continuously actualized successful outbound and inbound overseas exchange programs. Once participating students are selected, programs are carefully planned out with partner universities.
Two people have been specifically hired to be in charge of the execution of these projects. They communicate and coordinate closely with partner universities for both outbound and inbound programs.
Implemented short term exchange programs (2 to 3 weeks in February to March) with four partner universities (Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Universidade Federal Rural de Amazônia, Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Universidade de São Paulo).

2016 Plan

Outbound Programs:

Below are three types of programs available for NODAI students to study overseas.

1) Long term programs (6 months to 1 year starting in August or September): Send NODAI students to four partner universities (Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia, Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Universidade de São Paulo)
Goals: Study the local language (language courses), take regular courses , experiment in laboratories

2) Short term programs (2 to 3 weeks, in August or September): Send NODAI students to four partner universities (Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia, Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Universidade de São Paulo).
Goals: Practical agricultural learning, agricultural training and observation

3) Long term (more than 6 months) and short term (up to 1 month) assignments to two agricultural groups (CAMTA Agricultural Cooperative, Camu Camu Institute)
Goals: Agricultural internships

Inbound Programs:

Below are three types of programs available for students from partner institutions to be accepted to Tokyo NODAI.

1) Students from four partner universities (Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia, Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Universidade de São Paulo) are accepted to NODAI for long term study (6 months to 1 year).
Goals: Study Japanese language (Japanese language courses), take “Technical education programs (26 subjects) in English” coursework, take global education program coursework, participate in International Student Summit

2) Students from four partner universities are accepted to NODAI for short term study (2 weeks)
Goals: Take global education program coursework, participate in International Student Summit

3) Students from four partner universities intern for long term (6 months or more) or short term (up to 1 month) assignments in organic agriculture (Tokyo Joetsu Nodai, Inc.), food processing (Tokyo Nodai Bio Industry Inc.), and product development and sales (Mercado Tokyo Nodai, Inc.)
Goals: Agricultural internships

Programs planned for the 2017 through 2019 academic years

From the 2016 academic year onward, issues from previous years are taken into consideration to improve the programs every year.
