About Re-Inventing Japan Project The Re-Inventing Japan Project aims to foster human resources that can be globally active and expand the global reach of university education, by ensuring the quality of higher education and supporting international educational collaboration with universities in locations including Asia, the United States, and Europe. This project gives Japanese students the chance to study overseas, while strategically accepting students from foreign countries to study in Japan.
For the 2015 academic year, government funding is specifically given to programs that offer high quality exchange programs with Latin American countries and Turkey under “Support for exchanges with universities in Latin America and others”.

Application Process

This project was concluded in March 2019.

For short term overseas study programs at the four Latin American partner universities (Universidad Autónoma Chapingo, Universidade Federal Rural da Amazônia , Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina, Universidade de São Paulo), applications will be accepted starting in late April for programs starting the same year. For long term overseas study programs at those universities, applications will be accepted starting in October for programs starting the following year.
