Internships in Japan

Mercado Tokyo NODAI

Description:Mercado Tokyo NODAI consists of only student employees who manage day-to-day tasks, including taking orders by phone, packaging products, mailing out products, and organizing events. Each student employee would come into the office in between classes or after school to fulfill their job responsibilities.

Content of the Internship: Students participate in the local market and sell Tokyo NODAI alumni products by talking to Japanese consumers.

Institute of Environmental Rehabilitation and Conservation（ERECON）

Description:ERECON is an international non-profit organization that aims to contribute to sustainable use of natural resources in Asian countries, such as Thailand and Cambodia. The organization promotes environmental rehabilitation and conservation as well as environmental education for the harmony between agricultural and urban development and nature.

Content of the Internship: Students participate in workshops and create compost pellets to learn about sustainable use of natural resources in Japan.

Hadano Farm

Description:Hadano Farm practices hydroponic agriculture in order to provide vegetables to consumers in a constant manner. Vegetables are cultivated in a dome that is made from a special plastic ﬁlm that controls sunlight evenly. The dome also has a control panel system installed to control many aspects including, air conditioning to nutrient solution and facility management; thus, creating a desirable environment for vegetables to grow. In addition, Integrated Pest Management (IPM) has been incorporated to provide safe vegetables throughout the year.

Content of the Internship：Students cultivate various kinds of vegetables to learn about hydroponic agricultural methods.
