Tokyo NODAI x JKUAT: the First Online Exchange Program

On Friday, March 19, Tokyo NODAI hosted the first online exchange program with Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). JKUAT is our partner university in Kenya and one of the participating universities of our collaborative educational program which was adopted as part of the Inter-University Exchange Program of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) in December 2020.

Since the online event received a lot of registrations from JKUAT students who were new to Tokyo NODAI and the collaborative program, it started 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled to provide a short information session for them. After the session, the students chose either to attend the student exchange session with Tokyo NODAI students or stay to ask the program coordinators questions.

The event was broadcast live on YouTube, and students from Tokyo NODAI joined after the information session, in total over 100 students from both universities participated in the event.

Many of the participants shared positive feedbacks and expectations for the future opportunities at the end of the event. Online exchange program will be held monthly with both participating universities in Africa, and Tokyo NODAI would like to continue promoting vigorous exchanges between students from Africa and Japan through the event.
