Upon the continuous of the state of emergency due to the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), Tokyo University of Agriculture (Tokyo NODAI) has started Online Classes on May 11. The first semester will be held online until the end. Although it may seem that we are out of the peak of the outbreak, there is a fear of the second and third waves. We think remote learning is the best method to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, and staff in this circumstance.

Considering that some of you have faced a financial burden in preparing a remote learning environment, or economic difficulties due to the cut off of the part-time job incomes, Tokyo NODAI has decided to provide 50,000JPN as the “Emergency Student Assistance Scholarship” to all undergraduate students. We start to accept the application on June 9. You need to register your bank account as the transfer destination. Please follow the steps to apply on

Application Procedure for Tokyo University of Agriculture "Emergency Student Assistance Scholarship"

The Novel Coronavirus pandemic has caused an enormous scale crisis to the global economy. You could say that the impact is worse than the time of Bankruptcy of Lehman Brothers, or the same as the Great Depression in the 1930s. Japanese economic stagnation will probably be prolonged. Some of you may find difficulties in continuation of learning. Tokyo NODAI is now planning to set up the other scholarship than “Emergency Student Assistance Scholarship” for those students and to ask the society, including alumni, for the domination support for current students.

As the president of the university, I would like to convince you not to give up on your study. No student, who is fated to be meet at Tokyo NODAI, should leave here due to the Novel Coronavirus pandemic. Stick to and carry out your study to support “life”. If you have any anxiety, please talk to your class advisor or supervisor. The Japanese government decided to set up the “Emergency Student Benefit Project” that provides 200,000JPN at the most and universities will be the contacts of its application. Some local governments established their own student support systems. Let’s seek a solution together.
