Handing Over to the Next Generation Members of the International Students Forum

The International Students Forum (ISF) is a student organization that is responsible for running the International Students Summit on Food, Agriculture and Environment in the New Century (ISS) that is organized by Tokyo University of Agriculture. The handover ceremony to the next generation members took place on January 10.

The planning and operation of the ISS is not the one and only activity of the ISF. ISF members have declared their commitment to engage in even more vigorous activity on a year-round basis by means of study groups and practical activities relating to food, agriculture, and the environment.

The ISF is a student organization comprised of a network of university students who are strongly concerned about food, agriculture, and the environment in all countries. The organization promotes information exchanges, shared discussions, and other activities among university students with a view to resolving common issues faced by humankind. Any student at this university who has an interest in food, agriculture, and the environment can become a member and participate in ISF activities. At present, the organization has about fifty student members.

The ISS is an international student conference where university students from partner universities in twenty-five or more countries gather together to discuss the world's food, agricultural, and environmental problems, and the participants give presentations on the sustainable growth of the human race and the role that students themselves have to play. The ISS is held annually, and this will mark its 18th year.
