Educational Corporation is a juridical entity which is required for establishing and managing a private educational institution under the present Japanese education system. The Tokyo University of Agriculture Educational Corporation (hereafter abbreviated as TUA Educational Corporation) was founded in 1949 under the School Education Law and the Private School Law, in order to manage the hitherto existing TokyoUniversity of Agriculture. TUA Educational Corporation was replaced by the Tokyo University of Agriculture Foundation under the University Enactment in 1925. However, the origin of Tokyo University of Agriculture goes back to the establishment of the agricultural course in TokugawalkueikoSchool in 1891.
At the time of its establishment, the TUA Educational Corporation managed three institutions: Tokyo University of Agriculture,Junior College of Tokyo University of Agriculture, and FirstHigh School of TokyoUniversity of Agriculture. In the following decades, the TUA Educational Corporation has grown to a large organization and now manages a total of eight educational institutions:
・Tokyo University of Agriculture, founded in 1891
・Tokyo University of Information Science,founded in 1988
・Junior College of Tokyo University of Agriculture, founded in 1950
・First High School (Tokyo), founded in 1949
・Second High School (Gunma), founded in 1962
・Third High School (Saitama), founded in 1985
・TUA Adult School, founded in 1975
・First Junior High School(Tokyo), founded in 2005
All these institutions are managed by the Board of Directors, the members of which are elected from the members of the Board of Trustees, who are in turn elected by all the qualified employees and alumni.
